Frequently Asked Questions
Although local laws may allow for most weapons to be worn, many of the venues that we partner with for the event do not allow certain types of weapons and some allow none of any kind. The Creole Queen riverboat is a NO WEAPONS venue. For all else, the standing rule is no "real" weapons. Swords and bladed weapons must be foam, rubber, plastic or wood; flintlocks MUST NOT BE FUNCTIONAL! Non-firing replicas only! This is a hard/fast rule due to changes in policy for many of the bars and other venues within the quarter.
While garb is not required for any event except the Pirate Ball, it is strongly encouraged. After all, part of the fun of being a pirate is looking the part! There are also many places in the Quarter and around the city to start your garb if you're new to pirating! Any of our local Crewe will be more than happy to help you get your 'fit sharp as a cutlass!
While there is street and pay lot parking available, there is no guarantee of either, nor is there any surety of safety from break in. Our recommendation is to rideshare, pedicab, or walk if you're close enough from your lodgings. Besides, who wants to go on a drunken scavenger hunt for their own vehicle late at night?
There are a large variety of options from Uber, Lyft and YellowCab to Pedi-Cab options! Most venues and events are within walking distance if you're staying within the French Quarter.
We highly recommend - Cajun Queen Tours, Rides & Limo - for transportation options. They are a reputable and reliable company with a variety of options from pedi-cabs all the way to limousines and excellent rates and availability. You can reach out to them directly at: (504) 912-2030
